Hi there folks
This is a short piece to let you know about recent events and forthcoming vigils.
Hampton Court 31st July 2008
Have you ever been to Hampton Court, well, I can finally say “I have” and it was brilliant. Hampton Court is somewhere I have always wanted to see, steeped in history, plenty to see and photograph and said to be haunted. I love all that. Four of us went, three team members, Mark, Beverley, myself (Jacqui) and Dave (Beverley's boyfriend) Mark was driving, we set off from my house in Liverpool at 5.45am and arrived at Hampton Court at 10am. We paid our £13.50 each and entered through the left side door as the main entrance was closed due to maintenance work. Cont.......................
Samlesbury Hall, March 2008
We have just recently done a vigil at Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire, The first hall was built by the D'Ewyas family and situated on the bank of the river Ribble. This was destroyed by Robert the Bruce, after the Battle of Bannockburn, when the Scots ransacked and pillaged homes along the banks of the river, from Preston to Clitheroe. John Cooper bought the Hall in 1850 and leased it as a boarding school for girls.
In 1862, Joseph Harrison, a wealthy Blackburn man was the next buyer who carried out much renovation and restoration. Unfortunately, he was a lavish entertainer and spent way beyond his means. He shot and killed himself in 1878. A local J.P. lived here until 1909 when the Hall, now looking shabby from lack of care, was left to be demolished.
Fortunately, in 1924, an appeal was launched and a group of trustees formed Samlesbury Hall Trust to rescue and preserve the Hall for future generations.
With this wealth of history we are very grateful to the trusties, for allowing us to investigate the hall for any paranormal activity. At the moment we are still reviewing all the tapes and audio gained on the night, along with the pictures taken. This will then be published on our website, giving all our findings.
The group would like to say a big thank you once again to the hall, and especially to Sherry, a lovely lady and member of staff who accompanied us on the evening.
